My name is Alanna Cope
This is an easy question for me. I have always had a passion for wanting to work with animals. I was raised around farm animals mostly but had my love for small animals too. I really decided I wanted to be in animal medicine, when I had one of my horses at UT. It was an amazing experience getting to watch them work and I just knew that’s what I wanted to do. I loved getting to learn how to take care of a horse that had a cast on and how to change the cast when it was dirty. When I first started here at AHOW, I was the kennel person. Never thought that I would be where I’m at today, monitoring surgery, drawing blood, doing dentals etc. I love this job and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
